Company Settings

Configure your company's defaults:

General

  • Company Name — Your business name
  • Date Format — How dates are displayed throughout Saite
  • Time Format — 12-hour or 24-hour time display
  • First Day of Week — Sunday or Monday

Business Hours

Set your standard operating hours. These become the default for customers who don't have their own hours specified.

  • Start Time — When your day typically begins (default: 8:00 AM)
  • End Time — When your day typically ends (default: 5:00 PM)

Business hours help with scheduling and identifying after-hours work.

Company Logo

Upload your company logo to display on work orders and throughout the application:

  1. Go to Settings → Company → Logo
  2. Upload a PNG, JPG, or SVG file (max 2MB)
  3. Preview the logo before saving
  4. Click Save Logo

To remove the logo, click Remove on the current logo preview.

Asset Types

Manage the types of equipment you service.

System Types

Saite includes built-in asset types for common compressed air equipment:

  • Blower
  • Compressors (Piston, Rotary Screw, Rotary Vane, Scroll)
  • Air Dryers (Refrigerated, Desiccant)
  • Filter Housing
  • Receiver Tank
  • Vacuum Pump
  • Condensate Drain

System types cannot be deleted, but you can customize them for your needs.

Custom Types

Create your own asset types for equipment not covered by the defaults:

  1. Go to Settings → Asset Types
  2. Click Add Type
  3. Enter the name
  4. Choose whether it tracks hours
  5. Save

Custom types appear alongside system types when adding assets.

Hour Tracking

When creating or editing an asset type, you can enable hour tracking. This:

  • Adds hour reading fields to assets of this type
  • Enables hour-based service intervals for components
  • Shows usage metrics on the asset detail page

Enable hour tracking for equipment with runtime meters (compressors, dryers with hour counters).

Component Types

Manage the types of parts you track inside assets.

System Types

Built-in component types include:

  • Oil Filter
  • Primary Air Filter
  • Secondary Air Filter
  • Oil
  • Belt
  • Drive
  • Separator
  • Valve Kit
  • Motor

Custom Types

Create component types specific to your work:

  1. Go to Settings → Component Types
  2. Click Add Type
  3. Enter the name
  4. Mark as consumable if it's a regular replacement item
  5. Set default service intervals (months and/or hours)
  6. Save

Service Intervals

Each component type can have default service intervals:

  • Months — Time-based replacement (e.g., every 12 months)
  • Hours — Runtime-based replacement (e.g., every 2,000 hours)

These defaults apply when adding components to assets.

Estimated Service Times

Set how long typical service actions take for each component type:

  • Change time — Minutes to replace (e.g., 15 minutes for an oil filter)
  • Inspect time — Minutes to inspect (e.g., 5 minutes)
  • Clean time — Minutes to clean (e.g., 10 minutes)

Saite uses these estimates to calculate total job time on the Schedule page, helping you plan technician capacity.

Metadata Fields

Metadata fields define the custom attributes that can be tracked on assets. Each field has:

  • Key — Machine name (e.g., horsepower)
  • Label — Display name (e.g., "Horsepower")
  • Type — Number, text, or select (dropdown)
  • Unit — Display unit (e.g., "HP", "PSI", "gallons")
  • Validation — Min/max values, required status

Linking Fields to Asset Types

After creating metadata fields, link them to asset types:

  1. Go to Settings → Asset Types
  2. Click an asset type to edit
  3. Add or remove metadata fields
  4. Set the display order
  5. Override the required status if needed

Example: The "Horsepower" field is linked to compressor types but not to filter housings.

Asset Templates

Asset templates pre-populate common equipment configurations:

  1. Go to Settings → Asset Templates
  2. Click Add Template
  3. Select the asset type
  4. Pre-fill metadata values
  5. Select component types to include
  6. Save

When adding a new asset, select a template to auto-fill these values.

User Settings

Individual users can customize their own experience:

Once enabled, you'll need your phone to log in.

Best Practices

  • Set business hours first — Defaults flow to new customers
  • Upload your company logo — Appears on work orders and branding
  • Configure metadata fields early — Define the attributes you want to track
  • Create templates for common equipment — Saves time when adding assets
  • Add custom types as needed — Don't over-engineer upfront
  • Set service intervals on component types — Enables proactive maintenance tracking
  • Set estimated service times — Helps with scheduling and capacity planning
  • Enable 2FA for admins — Protect accounts with elevated access
  • Review settings periodically — As your business changes, update Saite
